More Than Just a Gun Seminar

More Than Just a Gun is a close quarters seminar for those who carry. This 4 hour seminar will give you the empty handed skills needed to defend yourself and protect your firearm in a close quarters attack, from both standing and grounded positions, as well as give you the experience of defending yourself in a simulated real-world violent attack.

Seminar Outline:

• Prevention and dealing with approaching threats.

• Standing and grounded technique to: Control the attacker to access your weapon mid-fight, or retain your weapon in the holster while disengaging (escaping) - all while minimizing the risk of getting hit, tackled, having a weapon deployed and used on you, or having your own gun taken off of you.

• We will finish with optional live scenarios using UTM sim guns. These are firearms that have been converted to safely fire a non-lethal marking projectile. These rounds carry with them a small pain penalty when hit, which adds some stress and a great deal of realism to the scenarios and drills. Participants will have the opportunity to use the technique learned in the seminar, along with the sim gun, to defend themselves against a live attacker — these scenarios provide the closest training you can get to defending yourself with a firearm in a real life violent attack and are a must-have experience for those who carry a weapon!
